About the Position:
This registered nurse position at Arkansas State University is responsible for providing nursing services to support the clinic flow and needs of university students.
Duties Include:
- Providing professional nursing care to students; making independent nursing assessments regarding illness; referring complex medical problems to the Director or other healthcare professionals.
- Preparing students for medical examinations; assisting with examination or treatment as directed.
- Performing point-of-care tests to include testing for COVID-19, strep, mono, influenza, and pregnancy; maintaining quality controls.
- Maintaining and ordering medical supplies; maintaining AED and emergency kit.
- Administering injections to include depo provera, immunizations, and allergy injections.
- Maintaining confidential health records; recording lab work performed and medications administered.
- Serving as a resource and point of contact for maintaining international student and immunization compliance.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an associate's degree in nursing; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- One year of work experience preferred.
- Valid Arkansas driver's license.
- Current Arkansas Registered Nurse License.
- CPR/AED card for healthcare provider.
- Pass a background check.
