Position Summary:
The Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for a wide range of activities related to hardware support, such as the implementation, maintenance, and utilization of camera, ephone, and panic button systems.
This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serves as dedicated support technician/administrator for IT-related services utilized by UPD and Emergency Management (EM) departments.
- Responsible for tier one support and management for the following:
- Security camera operations
- Emergency phone installation and maintenance
- Panic Buttons
- Access Control Readers
- Access Control Modules
- Responsible for managing IT maintenance budget and contracts for UPD/EM technologies
- Assist or manage installation and support for all security-related technologies across campus
- Perform preventative maintenance to maintain updated systems
- Provide backup support for Access Control for door access. This includes card readers, nodes, micronodes, and basic wiring.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience with Microsoft or Mac OS.
Understanding of basic network operations and audio/video devices.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to install and configure various hardware and software.
Ability to work in tight spaces and off of ladders.
Ability to lift over 25 lbs..
Great customer service attitude.
Ability to communicate clearly and precisely.
Attention to detail.
Flexible schedule, when needed.
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance
Some after hours, weekend, and holiday work as need dictates

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified individuals should have vocational training or industry-related certification, with a minimum of one year of work experience related to IT support
