Compensation: $16.75 per hour
Job summary: The Family-Focused Planning Specialist (FFPS) supports individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and their families in acquiring and maintaining self-advocacy skills through a person-centered coaching approach. The FFPS assists families and individuals throughout their lifespan in identifying appropriate resources and services. They are responsible for connecting families and individuals with IDD to various resources in the community and other paid services available in Arkansas. Additionally, the FFPS aids families and individuals with IDD in comprehending and navigating healthcare, early intervention, school-based, and transition services.

What You’ll do:
- Builds trust and collaborative partnerships with families and people receiving support.
- Acquires and maintains credentials as a Charting the LifeCourse Navigator.
- Supports families and people receiving support as they access services, including attending meetings and participating in various other contacts.
- Assist families and people receiving support in identifying training opportunities to increase knowledge and skills to become advocates.
- Actively participate in community resource planning and establish relationships with other community service delivery systems and community resources.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to help identify barriers for families and people receiving support to determine areas of program development needed for each life stage.
- Plans and presents informational talks, workshops, and other events for families, people receiving support, and the community in general to promote person-centered planning and philosophy.
What You’ll need:
- Spanish proficiency is required.
- 2 years of experience working alongside individuals with developmental disabilities. Further related experience is a preferred plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to provide proof of insurance.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as public presentation ability.
- Proven ability to work independently, effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
