The Support Staff member plays a vital role in delivering services to individuals participating in the Center for Enrichment (CFE) program. This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of planned activities, both in group settings and on an individualized basis. The Support Staff member is tasked with supporting the overall functioning of the CFE program and ensuring the well-being and engagement of program participants.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the implementation of planned activities for individuals attending the Center for Enrichment.
- Support the execution of both group activities and individualized plans tailored to the needs and preferences of participants.
- Provide guidance, encouragement, and assistance to program participants during activities to foster a positive and inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities and transitions within the CFE program.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of participants, intervening as needed to address any concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to participant attendance, progress, and any incidents or observations.
- Foster positive relationships with program participants, families, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the CFE facility, including setup and cleanup of activity areas.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to confidentiality and participant rights.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or experience in human services, education, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, special needs, or in a similar supportive role is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse populations.
- Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively as part of a team, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor with a genuine interest in supporting the well-being and development of others.
- Basic understanding of developmental disabilities, behavioral management techniques, and person-centered approaches is desirable.
