Position Summary:
The Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at Arkansas Tech University invites applications for the position of a 9-month non-tenure track instructor of Mathematics. The position carries a teaching load of 15 credit hours in mathematics and statistics per semester, as well as serving the department, institution and the community, as assigned by the department head. The department currently consists of fifteen faculty members and twelve instructors. Candidates must have at least masters degree in mathematics by the time of appointment on August 2025. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and student interaction through advising and student organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and remedial classes in mathematics
Engage students in high impact learning practices.
Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service.
Attend the required university, college, department, and program meetings and trainings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Masters in mathematics or closely related fields
Demonstrated skills in communication, both written and oral.
Knowledge of and/or experience with developing, supporting or implementing innovative teaching and instructional technologies.
Strong desire to mentor undergraduates who are predominately first generation college students.
Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse groups and populations.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters in mathematics or closely related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching undergraduate and remedial level mathematics classes.
