Position Summary
One to one and group training of DCFS new and seasoned staff. Extensive travel in 14 counties in Arkansas. Assist with DCFS field placement and internship student education. Support DCFS training initiatives as requested through the Academic Partnership in Public Child Welfare. This is a twelve-month position funded through grants and subcontracts and is renewed on an annual basis; continued employment is contingent on funding.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for field coordination of all training activities in assigned regional training area
Develop, maintain and supervise undergraduate students in DCFS field sites as requested
Provide case management education, mentoring and field education to new DCFS staff, new supervisors and experienced staff as requested and per developed
protocols and standards
Coordinate and facilitate communication within assigned DCFS areas
Complete case review and consultation as requested by DCFS
Facilitate communication with community-based providers of DCFS
Monitor compliance in ensuring that student comply with and complete criminal background and central registry check as requested
Provide training or assist with training for DCFS personnel as requested and in compliance with Title IV-E funds
Assist with the development of training curricula and knowledge of best practice in child welfare
Responsible of daily maintenance of field contacts in data base
Perform Other Duties As Required Or Assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and some weekends
Ability for occasional in-state and out of state travel
Experience and training in curriculum development and training delivery
Supervisory skills
Ability to use instructional technology to deliver training presentations
Knowledge of and experience with computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong organizational and Interpersonal communication skills
Possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to drive.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Science, Psychology, Sociology or Social Work
Three to five years of experience with child protective agencies
Knowledge of Academic Partnership in Public Child Welfare
Knowledge of rehabilitation professional values.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or Social Work.
Professional experience with children and families.
