Position Summary:
The Department of Residence Life at Arkansas Tech University is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator. This position will assist in creating, implementing, managing, and assessing a comprehensive residential curriculum with the outcome of creating a learning-centered environment safe for all students.This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month position.
Additional duties include overseeing residents' academic support, student staff supervision, facilities management, student conduct, and crisis intervention. The Residence Life Coordinator also develops and maintains relationships among residential students, their families, various campus departments, community partners, and vendors.
Reporting to Assistant Director level staff in the Department of Residence Life, this live-on position includes a furnished apartment, meal plan, and full university benefits, including medical, retirement, paid time off, and tuition benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serving as a direct report to the Assistant Director, the Residence Life Coordinator will supervise Graduate Assistant Resident Directors.
Assist in the development of the Department of Residence Life goals and objectives.
Oversee the daily operations of 5-6 Residential Life facilities and all related staff/tasks.
Utilize Roompact to oversee management of halls, staff, documentation, forms, check in/out procedures, and other daily operational needs.
Navigate MCR Residential Management System to issue fines, review occupancy, check in/out residents, run reports, email residentialcommunity
Serve an integral role of project management for recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, and evaluating student staff.
Assist with continued implementation of the Residential Curriculum Model and Academic Initiative programs.
Serve as a Conduct Officer, use Maxient to navigate caseload, and oversee conduct within your area.
Assist with CARE Team referrals and follow up accordingly.
Serve on an emergency on-call team rotation for the residence halls.
Oversee management of in-hall duty coveragethroughout the year and during open break periods. Rotate on-call responsibilities among the team as needed.
Intervene and assist in the resolution of operational concerns and emergencies, which may disrupt the normal routine of the residential community.
Spend time each week within assigned neighborhood (walkthroughs, one on ones, office hours, programming)
Resolve severe or sensitive student or parental concerns and make a report of resolution to other professionals and supervisor as appropriate.
Provide after hours and weekend response by assisting students experiencing elevated emotional, academic, physical, and/or interpersonal difficulties, and refer them to other professionals and supervisor when appropriate. Assist in crisis situations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Work experience in Residence Life (Hall Director, Resident Assistant, Camp and Conference Assistant, Programming Assistant or related)
Experience and/or involvement at the post-secondary level in one or more of the following areas; residence life, camps and conferences, orientation, leadership programs, student organizations, or fraternity and sorority life.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Work experience in Residence Life (Hall Director, Resident Assistant, Camp and Conference Assistant, Programming Assistant or related)
Experience and/or involvement at the post-secondary level in one or more of the following areas; residence life, camps and conferences, orientation, leadership programs, student organizations, or fraternity and sorority life.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate-level coursework in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or a related field
Full-Time work or Graduate Assistant experience within Student Affairs at a 2 or 4-year institution.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
This is a live-on position located on the Russellville campus. Position is required to maintain office hours within the Department of Residence Life during normal business operations (Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm). Position requires after hours and weekend work. Position serves as member of the duty rotation, which can include consultation and/or in person response after hours and on weekends. Position should be able to access all residential living facilities including climbing stairs, mechanical rooms, and all areas necessary to examine and assess the structure and infrastructure of the facilities.
