Job Summary:
- Perform duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of facility in good repair.
- Basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs and other duties relating to facility maintenance.
- Works one week per month on call or as required.
- Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Facility Management Department.
- Performs urgent corrective repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as required.
- Install, align, fabricate and build new and used equipment & systems
- Performs preventative maintenance duties to all and physical structures of facility while complying with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.
- Assists other technicians (Electrician, HVAC, & Plumber) on tasks as assigned.
- Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system using CMMS.
- Performs manual duties as requested (i.e. moving supplies or furniture, grounds cleanup, removing trash or scrap metal).
- Reads blueprints, interprets instructions.
- Works day, evening, and/or night as required.
- Ability to do work well on his/her own with normal supervision.
- A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
- A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.
- Recognize and respond to occupational hazards and follow engineering controls to promote safety.
- Participate in performance improvement and information management activities.
- Works one week per month on call or as required.
Skill/Education Requirements:
- High school Diploma or GED (required).
- One to three years of maintenance in a commercial environment (required).
- Applicable industry certifications (preferred).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- General computer skills.
- Must take the Maintenance Competency Exam to verify skills.
- Carpentry; dry wall patch and paint, floor repair (VCT, carpet), framing, doors, and locks.
- Electrical; changing ballasts, replacing receptacles, low voltage.
- Mechanical; motors controls, pump repair, boilers and chiller understanding.
