Job Summary:
We are seeking a Biostatistician, preferably with expertise in agricultural or life sciences research, to play a key role in our field research program by exploring and recommending analytical approaches for field study data. This role is focused on providing real-time insights and actionable recommendations during field studies, as well as contributing to planning prior to the study to ensure robust experimental design data collection. Additionally, this role will work cross-functionally with the Computational Biology team, who is responsible for building automated tools for routine analysis, to collaborate on the implementation of recommended analysis methods.
Duties Responsibilities:
- Analyze field study data, including but not limited to, immunological response time-series based gas flux measurements, to detect differences between treatment groups.
- Conduct real-time reviews of ongoing field study data to report progress to the technical team.
- Identify potential issues in data quality or study design during execution and propose actionable modifications.
- Experience analyzing GreenFeed and/or GrowSafe data is a plus.
- Research recommend analysis methods to evaluate treatment effects, account for variability, and optimize interpretation of time-series experimental data.
- Document statistical methodologies, analytical approaches, and recommendations for both ongoing completed studies.
- Provide post-study summaries of analysis impact on study outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Computational Biology team to design automated analysis tools to accelerate standardize future study analysis.
- Ensure animal enrollment treatment assignments meet requirements for robust statistical analysis.
- Regularly review scientific literature industry advancements to stay informed about new methane measurement tools, algorithms, and statistical methodologies.
- Collaborate with the technical team to refine hypotheses ensure analyses are aligned with study objectives.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of statistical findings recommendations for non-statistical audiences.
Required Skills Abilities:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Extensive life sciences research experience in exploratory data analysis and statistical methodologies.
- Experience analyzing time series-based data with repeated observations, for example linear mixed models or paired tests.
- Strong understanding of experimental design principles, including randomization, sample size calculations, and power analysis.
- Experience working with time-series data, treatment-control comparisons, and advanced statistical techniques.
- Proficiency in statistical software for data analysis.
- Ability to communicate statistical findings effectively to a non-technical audience using data visualization.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to the dynamic nature of field research.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough literature reviews and integrate findings into applied research.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in agricultural research.
- Experience with gas measurement data, such as GreenFeed or a similar livestock research technology.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, or Python for data analysis.
