Job title: Lab Technician
Situation in organization: This position reports to the Sr.-level Scientist
Job dimensions: This position performs lab synthesis and prepares adhesive formulations and test properties utilizing analytical instrumentation.
Activities:
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct lab synthesis, formulate adhesives, test properties, and document results in laboratory notebook, with support / direction from Senior Scientist.
- Follow all safety rules, work safely with a strong safety mindset, and maintain a safe, 5S laboratory. Wear appropriate PPE when working on hazardous chemicals. Proper and safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemical wastes.
- Perform routine cares and repairs for lab equipment, including equipment cleaning and lubrication to ensure all equipment is calibrated and functional.
- Attend and provide trainings as needed.

Qualifications / experience required
- A minimum of an Associate degree in a chemical related field, preferably Science or Engineering.
- A minimum of 2-years college laboratory experience.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office programs (excel, word, PowerPoint, etc.) and the ability to analyze and compile data accurately.
- Ability to safely lift 40 pounds (i.e., pails) and move full drums with assistance of a drum cart.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- 2 years of commercial laboratory experience in adhesives or coatings.
- 2 years industrial application experience.
