What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Recruiter position at Arketa?
The Company
Arketa is a wellness business platform built for the hybrid world. Our mission is to increase access to wellness by helping studios grow beyond classes. We make it easy for studios & wellness entrepreneurs to share their love of movement with the world.
Unlike other software, Arketa offers clean & easy-to-use software tools for wellness entrepreneurs & studios to easily set their schedules, accept bookings & payments, create on demand video libraries, host retreats, text, do email marketing and grow their businesses in-person and online. Arketa offers branded apps and websites so your customers have a consistent experience across all mediums.
It's a exciting time for Arketa – there is a big market for hybrid wellness solutions that Arketa is perfectly positioned to capture. We’ve raised a $6M seed round led by First Round Capital, and we’re growing fast. We’re building an NYC-based team, and we’re looking for people who want to inspire and empower a healthier world.
The Role
Arketa is building the modern operating system for wellness businesses — and our team is at the heart of it all. We're looking for our first dedicated People & Talent Lead to own hiring from end to end and lay the foundation for scalable people operations as we grow. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to be hands-on today and build toward leadership tomorrow.
Drive Hiring Strategy\ Partner closely with Rachel Lea (CEO) and functional leaders to build a hiring roadmap that supports our ambitious goals across sales, marketing, product, and engineering. Define role requirements, success profiles, and interview plans in collaboration with hiring managers.
Own Full-Cycle Recruitment\ Lead sourcing, outreach, screening, interviewing, and offer processes with a sharp eye for quality and speed. Create a smooth, delightful, and human candidate experience from first touch to final offer. Manage our ATS, job boards, and outreach tools — and evolve our stack as we scale.
Source Top Talent\ Build diverse, high-quality pipelines using a mix of headhunting, referrals, events, and creative outreach. Focus especially on early hires in GTM and technical roles, where talent is a major unlock.
Build Employer Brand\ Collaborate with the team to craft and share our story — through job descriptions, social content, candidate communication, and more. Make Arketa known as the place to build the future of wellness tech.
Lay the Foundation for People Ops\ Help us stand up core people processes like onboarding, performance reviews, compensation planning, and team rituals. Create documentation, workflows, and practices that scale as we grow. Champion a culture that is inclusive, ambitious, kind, and grounded in wellness.
Use Data to Guide Decisions\ Track and report on hiring metrics like time to fill, pipeline health, conversion rates, and candidate feedback. Use insights to improve process and influence hiring strategy.
