The Analyst we hire will be responsible for analyzing client cases and generating financial plans that help clients steward a generational legacy.
Financial Planning Analyst Job Description:
Our Financial Planning Analyst creates and updates comprehensive financial plans, conducts research, and ensures that clients’ financial documents are in order. This person plays a critical role in analyzing clients’ financial information, preparing recommendations for financial advisors to present, and ensuring implementation of agreed strategies. Key responsibilities include:
- Financial Plan Preparation: Develop and maintain client financial plans by gathering data, assessing current financial situations, and determining financial goals.
- Client Interaction: Strengthen client relationships by gathering client information, handling inquiries, and assisting with strategy implementation.
- Research and Analysis: Collaborate with clients’ tax and legal professionals. Conduct research on investment products, tax laws, and estate planning strategies to provide up-to-date recommendations.
- Portfolio Recommendations: Prepare and propose investment recommendations for clients’ risk tolerance, time horizon, and tax considerations.
- Compliance and Regulation Adherence: Ensure that all financial plans and activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Meeting Preparation: Propose and prepare clear, actionable agendas with executive advisor summaries to direct high-value meetings and decisions for clients.
- Follow-through: Complete and document all assigned action items from client meetings within time expectations to keep clients on track with agreed-upon actions.
- Trading:Execute trades as requested to ensure excellent client experience.
Requirements:
- Integrity: As fiduciaries, we are committed to doing what is right for the client, every time.
- Education: College degree or higher; a degree in financial planning, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field preferred.
- Certification: Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) or equivalent experience is required for this role.
- Licenses: Series 7, 66, and State Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses required.
- Experience: Three or more years of experience in financial planning or a similar support role. Experience with Ameriprise systems and software is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial planning principles and processes, especially estate and philanthropic strategies.
- Proficiency with NaviPlan financial planning software strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Salesforce proficiency preferred.
- Analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial situations.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail in scheduling, completing, and tracking work.
- Excited to work collaboratively with a team.
Career Path:
Our Financial Planning Analyst will deliver 150-170 financial plans in a 12-month cycle. The ideal candidate has experience in both backstage and client-facing roles. She or he prefers the backstage analytic work of finding solutions for clients and energetically embraces the responsibility for careful analysis and on-time plan delivery. This person embraces the entrepreneurial energy of a small business and the opportunities to be known and valued as an important player on a mission-driven team.
Current responsibilities are allocated as follows:
- 60% planning and analysis
- 20% client, attorney, CPA, and vendor interaction for preparation and follow-through, including trading
- 20% collaboration with teammates, including sitting in client meetings
