Position Summary...

This is an entry-level role; this position will gain valuable experience performing routine inspections, and troubleshooting of sensitive equipment working under direct supervision, and following established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This position requires the development of problem-solving skills to identify and resolve various equipment technical issues.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to various aspects of quality control by maintaining qualification requirements of analytical measurement systems including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ion Chromatography (IC). Participating in departmental discussions to assess technical and operational issues. Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues and maintain equipment and instrument repair logs to track reoccurring issues. To be successful in this position the ability to express ideas and concerns is required along with the ability to determine the appropriate prioritization of multiple projects with competing deadlines and varying complexities.

Core Duties...
- Perform Basic Troubleshooting of laboratory equipment including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ion Chromatography (IC), escalating as appropriate to senior personnel.
- Maintain a log of laboratory and non-laboratory instrument and equipment repairs, notifying the supervisor of reoccurring concerns.
- Use of standard power and hand tools, to perform equipment repairs and calibration of sensitive laboratory equipment.
- Provide technical support for weight and measure issues during calibrations.
- Run simple diagnostics on the software of laboratory equipment including Thermo Chromeleon and Agilent Chemstation software.
- Will learn and utilize proper and good soldering techniques.
- Assist in the maintenance and sanitation of the Lab environment.
- Manage chemicals with the classifications of Hazardous, Toxic, Corrosive, Flammable, or Oxidizing.
- Strict Adherence to Standard Laboratory Operations, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Current Good Manufacturing Process (cGMP) guidelines.
- Adhere to, use, and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Laboratory Safety Equipment and identify hazards that may arise.
- Complete all safety training including but not limited to OSHA, Departmental SOPs, and Company Compliance.
- High School Diploma – or equivalent Diploma with an additional 1-year experience or...
- Associate degree in Chemistry or related Science Field – or equivalent diploma.
- Work Experience should include 1 year of experience in basic maintenance tools and experience in a laboratory environment with Laboratory Equipment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related Science Field is preferred.
- Technical Capacity: This position must understand laboratory and scientific equipment and terminology, and be able to follow protocols to repair, calibrate, and basic troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Mechanical & Computerized Tools: This position will need some working knowledge of Basic Mechanical equipment and tools and some computerized diagnostic tools to repair and run diagnostics.
- Problem-Solving: This position will at times deal with routine and unique problems that arise and will need the ability to suggest, create, plan, and execute solutions.
- Organizational Ability: This position will at times be coordinating and working with multiple projects that must maintain strict calibrations and controls.
- Detail Proficiency: This position will work with extremely sensitive equipment that must be within specific minute measurements.
- Collaboration Proficiency: This position will work at times independently and within a team environment.
- Time Management: This position deals with many time-sensitive tasks that must meet Strict Deadlines.

- Must be fluent in written and spoken English to receive and communicate information for standard and complex operations and emergencies clearly and accurately.
- Requires visual acuity to read and write words and numbers and to see in the normal visual range including ability to distinguish colors and shapes with or without correction.
