Job Summary
Arlington Baptist University is seeking a passionate Assistant Men's Basketball Coach to join our team and lead basketball training sessions for college level players. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball and a genuine interest in educating and mentoring athletes.
- Duties
Assist the Head Coach in providing athletic training to students.
- Schedule daily practice sessions including individual and team practices.
- Train and prepare student-athletes for sports competitions.
- Organize various sports events, contests, and competitions.
- Teach skills, techniques, and strategies for team play.
- Recruit and select qualified students for the men's basketball program.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the student athlete and provide appropriate feedback.
- Build a positive and achievement-oriented team environment.
- Plan travel arrangements for the team including transportation, food and stay.
- Assist in conducting special events and fund-raising programs.
- Maintain athletic facility clean, safe, and organized.
- Ensure that athletic equipment and tools are in good and safe working conditions.
- Adhere to rules and policies established by the athletic department.
- Promote the brand of the Athletic Department and Arlington Baptist University.
- Create an atmosphere of compliance: Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing of the NCCAA and the Arlington Baptist University’s Athletic Department.
- Reports directly to the Head Coach.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching at the collegiate, high school, or club level.
- Demonstrated experience in organizational skills, flexibility, good judgment, teamwork, attention to detail, problem-solving, and initiative.
- Responsible for the direction of all student-athlete adherence to academic eligibility and disciplinary propriety and coordinates all these efforts through the offices of the Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Vice-President of Student Affairs, and Registrar.
- Reports on contributions designated for athletics.
- Demonstrate and embrace Christian core values.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15,000.00 per year
