The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Human Services is hiring an experienced Human Services Clinician/Team Lead to serve as Intake and Assessment Coordinator for the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) within the Agency on Aging (AAA). The ADRC is a part of Arlington's AAA and is the Division's entry point for customers seeking information, referrals and emergency assistance. Many of these customers have complex needs and seek critical supports such as emergency financial assistance to prevent evictions or utility shut off.
The Intake and Assessment Coordinator/Team Lead will serve as the hands-on lead clinician while managing the ADRC's operational and administrative requirements; ensuring that the ADRC provides quality, timely, and targeted information and assistance to address the needs of older adults and caregivers; conducting client intakes and assessments and providing consultation to staff on complex cases; reviewing ADRC staff work and clinical documentation; coordinating the customer satisfaction survey process, and facilitating and participating in outreach events. The position will coordinate with ADRC staff to ensure accurate, timely and complete documentation of case management records in compliance with local and state reporting requirements.

Applicant must possess, or obtain by the time of appointment, a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the applicant's place of residence or the applicant must have the ability and willingness to use alternative methods of transportation to perform assigned duties and responsibilities at multiple locations other than the primary worksite.
If the applicant possesses or acquires a license, the applicant must provide or authorize Arlington County to obtain a copy of the applicant's official state/district driving record. Any offer of employment may be contingent on a favorable review of the applicant's driving record.
A pre-hire background check will be made on all candidates who are selected for employment. It may include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You may be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.
A pre-hire federal background check and State of Virginia Central Registry check will be performed.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, including the core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with limited flexibility. Occasional evening and weekend outreach work may be required.
This is not a full-time remote opportunity. Some telework may be available with prior approval by the supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Screens older adults, persons with disabilities, and caregivers through intake assessments in the office, over the phone, and in the community;
- Triages emergency services/crisis intervention referrals to determine appropriate level of support needed;
- Connects older adults, persons with disabilities, and caregivers to aging services and support so that they may remain safe and independent;
- Maintains and reviews electronic case records in compliance with applicable clinical and regulatory requirements in support of ensuring quality assurance standards are met;
- Conducts quarterly customer satisfaction surveys;
- Assists with the development of key policies and procedures;
- Analyzes data and trends to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual performance measurement reports for leadership;
- Serves on workgroups/committees to enhance efficiencies and customer service experience with the AAA;
- Organizes, facilitates, and tracks staff training on program goals, policies, and procedures; and
- Provides outreach and education to DHS and community partners to promote awareness of Aging and Disability Services, the Aging and Disability Resource Center referral process and aging programs.
Minimums
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Gerontology, Psychology, or other directly related clinical discipline all of which required a clinical practicum involving diagnostic, treatment, and case management services prior to graduation;
- Three years of post-Master's Degree experience providing professional clinical social work services, which included the application of diagnostic, treatment, and case management services; and
- Post-Master's degree experience must include at least one year providing services to older adults, adults with disabilities, caregivers and their families, adults experiencing homelessness, and/or older adults with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensure by the appropriate board of Virginia Department of Health Professions, appropriate to the employee's discipline is preferred.
- Leading staff in a professional setting while evaluating program effectiveness and design;
- Working in an Aging and Disability Resource Center and experience with a No Wrong Door system of record and/or PeerPlace electronic database;
- Coordinating and delivering services through an integrated service model and throughout the range of service intensity in the continuum of care;
- Clinical licensure: and/or
- Bilingual in Spanish, Korean, Amharic, or Vietnamese.
