The Arlington County Treasurer's Office is seeking a Business Systems Analyst II to report directly to the Deputy Treasurer for Technology as part of the Technology Unit.
As an elected official, the Arlington County Treasurer is accountable to the citizens of Arlington County. The Technology Unit of the Treasurer’s Office is a small team tasked with supporting the office in pursuit of future efficiencies, cost savings, and innovations. The team is responsible for providing: analysis and reporting beyond what vendor-supplied systems can deliver; support for certain vendor-supplied systems, most notably the iNovah cashiering system from System Innovators; software for the office; and end-user support for software and hardware matters. The Technology Unit is also the primary interface between the Treasurer's Office and the County’s IT department.

Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This is not a remote opportunity; employees are expected to be in the office full time.

Responsibilities
Specific duties include:
- Performing data, statistical, and quantitative analysis, including predictive modeling techniques to support the department’s data-driven decision-making goals;
- Leading data quality assurance efforts and making recommendations to alleviate errors or inconsistencies;
- Analyzing division-specific IT requirements and resources and recommending enhancements and process changes related to business operations;
- Serving as project manager for smaller IT projects or as team lead for larger IT projects;
- Designing, configuring, testing, implementing, and administering software and/or web-based applications and/or system security; and
- Providing training, documentation, and technical support.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, or related field; and
- Some experience in analysis of business requirements, especially related to the use of automated technology, some of which included experience in the management of smaller projects or as a team leader on larger projects.
Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- Python, R, and/or SQL;
- Business statistics & data visualization with software such as Tableau or Power BI;
- Microsoft Access and Excel, or similar tools, to perform data analysis;
- Public administration and/or tax-administration; and/or
- General knowledge of accounting, including governmental accounting.
