Join the team at Lake Arlington as a Sail Camp Counselor. This position is responsible for providing sailing instruction in a safe, yet exciting way to participants. The ideal candidate has experience working with children and enjoys being part of a team.
Schedule
Monday-Friday from 9 am-3 pm, beginning June through the 1st week of August. Nights and weekends hours may vary.
A minimum age of 16 is required

JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION
- Teaches sail classes in accordance with US Sailing and Lake Arlington mandated curriculum
- Supervise students, enforce rules, prevent accidents and maintain discipline during sailing lessons
- Assists the Sail Camp Coordinator with the daily set-up of boats, classroom and the lakefront area
- Assists the Boat Dock Attendants in maintaining the cleanliness of the classroom and lakefront area
- Reports any irregular discipline, safety or maintenance problems to the Sail Camp Coordinator, the Lake Arlington Manager, or the Lake Arlington Supervisor
- Participates in rescue drills, first aid reviews, instructional clinics and other skill development activities
- Attends work on a regular basis
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment
- Additional functions as assigned which may be considered essential
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school student, high school graduate or G.E.D.
- Minimum age of 16 is required
- Minimum one to two years’ experience sailing or as a sailing instructor
- Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
- CPR (Infant, Child and Adult) and AED Certification required within 30 days of employment; CPR and AED Certification preferred
