Arlington High School is looking for a long term substitute history teacher from February-June 2025. There would be 5 sections of high school history. The courses are 2 sections of US History 1 and 3 section of Modern World History.
As part of the AHS History Department, candidates will collaborate with fellow teachers in the history department, special educators, administrators, and other staff as well as effectively communicate with parents and guardians at Arlington High School.
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated ability to develop critical reading, writing and
historical thinking skills into the curriculum. We value teachers who are attentive to issues
of social justice and seek to integrate diverse perspectives into the way history is taught. Candidates should have experience differentiating instruction for a wide array of student learning needs as well as knowledge of social emotional learning strategies.
