Are you passionate about customer service and real estate? Arlington Properties is seeking a Leasing Consultant who will be the first point of contact for prospective residents and a key player in maximizing occupancy. This role involves guiding prospective residents through the leasing process, building positive relationships with current residents, and contributing to the overall success of our community.
What You’ll Do:
- Leasing & Sales: Provide information about the apartments and the community to prospective residents, schedule tours, and lease apartments at an acceptable rate.
- Client Interaction: Greet visitors, assess their needs, and ensure our community meets their qualifications.
- Lease Administration: Accurately and efficiently assist with all leasing paperwork, including applications, leases, employment and credit checks, and move-in packets.
- Rent Collection: Collect security deposits, rent, and other move-in funds, ensuring smooth transitions for new residents.
- Communication & Follow-Up: Maintain regular contact with residents throughout their tenancy, including follow-up thank you notes and callbacks after initial visits.
- Market & Pricing Knowledge: Stay updated on rent prices, apartment availability, and community features to provide accurate information to prospective residents.
- Marketing & Community Relations: Support marketing efforts with input on promotions and advertisements and participate in resident retention and renewal programs.
- Vacancy Management: Monitor current and future vacancies and assist in ensuring apartments are ready for prospective residents to view.
- Resident Activities: Help coordinate resident events, newsletters, and social activities to foster a strong sense of community.
- Community Appearance: Work with the Community Manager to ensure the property’s curb appeal and appearance are always at a high standard.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and landlord-tenant standards.
- A team player with a professional attitude and courteous demeanor.
- Sales experience or a background in real estate is a plus but not required.

Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree or some college coursework is desirable. A minimum of one-year sales experience is preferred. Customer Service background desirable. Basic arithmetic skills necessary. Excellent communication and organizational skills necessary. Computer literacy required.
Machines, Tools and Equipment, Software:
Computer w/internet and e-mail capabilities, Telephone, Facsimile, Photocopier, Vehicle. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Property Management software and/or accounting software.
Licenses/Certificates:
Valid driver’s license along with good driving record with auto insurance required.
Other Requirements:
As an Arlington Properties associate you represent Arlington Properties. While you are on the job, Arlington Properties expects you to wear clothing and accessories that are appropriate in a professional business environment. If a uniform is required at your property, you are expected to wear it. Refer to Arlington Properties Dress Code Guidelines for additional information.
Must be able to work any of the seven days of the week as necessary to get the job done.
PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES
Ability to interpret, evaluate and communicate detailed written or verbal instructions to others accurately and quickly, including answering phones, attending meetings, written correspondence or other forms of communication. Ability to organize various office systems through adjusting, connecting, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending or folding for the purpose of proper records development and/or management. Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 15 pounds for the dissemination of documents, supplies, materials, etc. to various locations throughout the office/facility.
