The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supervises and coordinates activities of room attendants, laundry attendants, public area attendants and floor supervisors. He or She assists in managing and directing the day-to-day operations of all Housekeeping and laundry functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and delegate daily tasks to assigned personnel.
- Assign team members their duties and inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Maintain clear, efficient communication, and coordination with the Front Office and other departments of the hotel.
- Assist Housekeeping Manager with Inventories & Linen.
- Provided support to the Housekeeping Manager in all areas of Housekeeping operations, such as staff training, coaching, counseling and enforces to the hotels standard operating procedures.
- Ensure guest rooms are properly secured and proper key control procedures are utilized by the housekeeping staff.
- Conduct daily detailed inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
- Assume Housekeeping Manager's daily duties in their absence.
- Respond and follow through on guest request, concerns, and problems to the guest's satisfaction.
- Identify and report maintenance related problems, by completing work orders.
- Expected to maintain knowledge of hotel facilities and events.
Skills
- Must have at least 1 year of Housekeeping Supervision experience
- Must have good communication skills, expressing instructions in a professional and encouraging manner
- Must have team building experience
- Must be willing to work "in the trenches" with the housekeeping staff
- Must have an eye for detail and the ability to effectively deal with guests, other departments, and housekeeping staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be available any day of the week
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk frequently
- Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop
