Job Summary

The steward ensures the kitchen is clean to a standard that meets the hotel and sanitation code.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude always.

• Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working order.

• Assist kitchen staff as needed.

• Assist with buffet lines when needed.

• Dispose of all garbage.

• Keep floors clean and mopped.

• Clean pots, pans, and dishes using proper sanitation.

• Properly store all supplies after cleaning.

• Completely follows closing guidelines.

• Must be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.

• Adhere to hotel's dress code.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Experience in food preparation in a professional environment preferred.

• Ability to tolerate pressure and work calmly and efficiently during busy times.

• Detail oriented

• Ability to communicate effectively.

• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

• Must be self-motivated and organized.

• Ability to take direction.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking the entire shift.

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
