Job Summary
The steward ensures the kitchen is clean to a standard that meets the hotel and sanitation code.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude always.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Assist kitchen staff as needed.
- Assist with buffet lines when needed.
- Dispose of all garbage.
- Keep floors clean and mopped.
- Clean pots, pans, and dishes using proper sanitation.
- Properly store all supplies after cleaning.
- Completely follows closing guidelines.
- Must be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Adhere to hotel's dress code.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in food preparation in a professional environment preferred.
- Ability to tolerate pressure and work calmly and efficiently during busy times.
- Detail oriented
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Must be self-motivated and organized.
- Ability to take direction.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking the entire shift.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
