Primary Purpose :
Serves as instructional teaching assistant to a regular education classroom.
Qualifications / Special Knowledge / Skills :
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Basic music reading skills
Knowledge of the keyboard
Ability to sign in tune
Major Responsibilities :
Assist teacher in one-to-one or small group instruction.
Assist in maintenance of structured classroom routine
Perform program-related data-keeping tasks
Operate duplicating, laminating, and audio-visual equipment
Assist teacher in providing a behavior management program which emphasizes positive reinforcement
Assist with extracurricular activities and similar events
Help keep classroom orderly and attractive
Decorate bulletin boards
Other duties as assigned by the teacher, lead teacher, and / or principal
