What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title 1 Student Support Interventionist - Academics position at Arlington Independent School District?
FEDERALLY FUNDED:

ROLE AND PURPOSE:
To provide support to students experiencing difficulties mastering content and performance standards.
This position is dedicated to working directly with students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Teaching Certificate issued by Texas Education Agency
- ESL Certification, required.
Experience:
- Minimum five years classroom teaching experience
- Knowledge of student intervention strategies such as; Leveled Literacy Intervention, Read 180, Phonics Intervention, El Sistema de la Intervención de Lectura (SIL), EL Próximo, El Camino, Do The Math, Math 180, Kickstart.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Ability to intervene with small groups of identified students around academic standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with campus and district staff.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
I. INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:
- Student support (in collaboration with classroom teacher and in small group setting).
- Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities considering individual student's culture, learning styles, special needs and socio-economic background
- Utilize materials and resources, which support learning objectives and address students' varying learning styles and special needs
- Ensure proper interventions are put in place for identified struggling students
- Provide intervention support with effective implementation
- Use assessment strategies to assist the continuous development of learners
- Establish and maintain a positive and safe learning environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process
- Assist with the development and implementation of student support plans
- Monitor and communicate progress of identified students
- Review and analyze documented student data for needed modification
II. OTHER DUTIES:
- Applies excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Communicates with principal, teachers, and staff about identified student needs and offers support as needed
- Communicates and models research based instructional practices that result in increased student performance
- Maintains a continued awareness of current research and trends in curriculum
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

- Personal computer, printer, fax machine, copier, scanner, and calculator.
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, etc.)
- Google Suite applications (Docs, G-Mail, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
