Position Summary
Do you have a passion for gymnastics and tumbling? Do you love working with kids and helping them develop confidence, strength, and new skills? Our Recreational Tumbling Program is designed for children ages 4 to 12 years old, offering skill levels from beginner to intermediate.
We are looking for a Tumbling Coach with a strong gymnastics/tumbling background who will lead weekly classes in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Classes range from basic movements like forward and backward rolls to more advanced skills such as back handsprings and back tucks.

Essential Functions
- Plan and instruct recreational tumbling classes, ensuring all lessons align with skill development and progression goals.
- Teach safe, fun, and effective tumbling techniques, adapting to the needs and abilities of each child.
- Provide clear verbal and visual demonstrations, incorporating skill-building drills and progressions.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging environment, offering constructive feedback to help athletes improve their technique and form.
- Ensure safety at all times by properly spotting, maintaining equipment, and enforcing class guidelines.
- Communicate with parents and athletes regarding progress, goals, and class expectations.
- Uphold YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
- Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and clean learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Previous coaching experience in tumbling required.
- Strong knowledge of tumbling technique and form.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with athletes of all ages and skill levels.
- Ability to create and implement lesson plans tailored to different skill levels.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
