The Arlington Public Schools is seeking a licensed secondary history teacher beginning in the 2025-2026 school year at Arlington High School. As part of the AHS History Department, candidates will collaborate with fellow teachers in the history department, special educators, administrators, and other staff as well as effectively communicate with parents and guardians at Arlington High School. Experience teaching AP U.S. history or economics is preferred.
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated ability to develop critical reading, writing and
historical thinking skills into the curriculum. We value teachers who are attentive to issues
of social justice and seek to integrate diverse perspectives into the way history is taught. Candidates should have experience differentiating instruction for a wide array of student learning needs as well as knowledge of social emotional learning strategies.
Arlington has a well established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year.
Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
