RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate competency development and implementation, evaluation, and professional growth for APS staff.
- Research and implement mentoring best practices and emergent skills, tools, and resources.
- Develop learning and training plans to support beginning, mid, and end of the school year recruitment.
- Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of learning and training opportunities to provide continuous improvements.
- Serve as a liaison between the school system and national, state, and local government and community programs that focus on competencies and growth of APS staff.
- Prepare onboarding materials including handbooks, program agendas, templates, and documented guidance references.
- Collaborate with various departments and offices to plan for staff orientation and induction.
- Ensure logistics for professional learning opportunities are arranged (e.g., scheduling conference rooms / space, participant materials, speaker arrangements, etc.)
- Provide support, guidance and management of the staff evaluation process.
- Coordinate staff support through implementation of an effective Career Advancement Program
- Support departments and staff utilizing the district’s Learning Management System (LMS)
- Collaborate with staff to meaningfully plan and deliver professional learning; this includes design, development, and implementation of professional learning.
- Model effective adult learning, coaching, and professional learning delivery
- Conduct personal professional learning including research relating to professional growth goals, related conference attendance, workshops, and coursework.
- Manages projects from inception through implementation and evaluation. May manage project contract(s).
- Communicates and interacts effectively with internal and external business contacts. Speaks in public and may engage with the communities served by APS. Briefs APS Leadership and School Board, occasionally, on staff professional development plans, projects, progress, etc. Participates in advisory committee meetings, department meetings, other meetings as required, to broaden the understanding of, promote and advocate for professional development and training. May collaborate and communicate with neighboring school districts.
- Uses a computer and (a) modern office suite software for various applications such as, but not limited to, planning / scheduling, communicating (email), word processing, manipulating data (databases and spreadsheets), preparing charts / graphics / presentations and researching (Internet); (b) enterprise systems / software for requisitioning, budgeting and other functions; and (c) specialty systems / software for tracking student achievement and performing other functions.

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) by the Association for Talent Development (ATD), formerly known as the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) or by another creditable certifying organization is preferred.
