JOB DESCRIPTION :

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Wakefield High School.

All Teachers / Instructional Staff hired after January 15th are considered term employees. This position is a term position that is effective for FY25 through June 18, 2025 only. You would need to re-apply for a position for FY26.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials.
  • Maintains safe and orderly environment.
  • Communicates with parents / guardians.
  • Maintains complete and accurate student records.
  • Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members.
  • Monitors and assesses student achievement.
  • Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Teaching experience in the above mentioned areas.
  • Knowledge of best instructional practices.
  • Ability to integrate technology.
  • Experience in educational and instructional leadership.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Special Education endorsement.
  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and / or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
