POSITION: SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, with Master’s Degree preferred
MA Certification in Speech and Language
Ability to offer variety of services and complete assessments
Reports To
DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION
Job Goal
To deliver a variety of services in speech and language and complete assessments
for the purpose of educational planning.
Performance Responsibilities
Provide therapeutic services to students with a wide variety of speech and language disorders and delays both individual and/or group for Grades K-5.
Performs diagnostic evaluations and implements treatment plans in relation to student needs.
Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement effective therapy that integrates student’s program.
Serves as a consultant to school staff members in the development of services.
Participates in I.E.P. meetings and parent conferences.
Responsible for goal writing and serving as liaison for I.E.P.’s.
Serve as a consultant to the Learning Team in school building.
Provide inclusionary services at the middle school level.
Keep thorough records of the individual student receiving services.
