Responsibilities Include :
Provide instruction for students in the identified science curriculum
Provide differentiation of science content based on the needs of individual students
Participate in planning and professional learning before summer school
Collaborate with staff regarding implementation of best instructional practices, use of assessments and assessment results
Development and implementation of differentiated curriculum
Experience:
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
Experience with personalized learning strategies
Experience teaching secondary science courses
Preferred Qualifications :
Willingness to participate in curriculum planning and professional learning prior to the beginning of summer school
Licensed to teach in Virginia
Willingness to work as a team in planning for instruction and grouping students
Willingness to engage in regular formative assessments and modify instruction based on the results of these assessments

summer School Teachers who are APS employees during the year will be paid their hourly rate or $36.68 per hour., whichever is higher. (Please note Salary earned relative to summer school employment will not be included in the employee’s creditable compensation amount reported to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).) Retired APS teachers will be paid $49.29 per hour per APS pay plan. Non-APS licensed summer school teachers will be paid $36.68 per hour.
