JOB DESCRIPTION: Professional Day and Orientation: July 2, 2025 Program Dates: July 7, 2025-August 2, 2025 Model: IN-PERSON Location :Washington-Liberty HS This teaching position instructs students in the two-week WorkKeys Assessment Preparation Course.
The course prepares students for the WorkKeys Business Writing Assessment, which measures individuals' skills when writing an original response to a work-related situation. Components addressed include sentence structure, mechanics, grammar, word usage, tone and word choice, organization and focus, and development of ideas. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities Include : Provide instruction for students in the identified curriculum Differentiate content based on individual students' needs Participate in planning and professional learning before summer school Collaborate with staff regarding the implementation of instruction Work effectively as a team member with colleagues Demonstrate flexibility, dependability, and strong organizational skills EXPERIENCE: Experience: Knowledge of best instructional practices for teaching ELs (English Learners) Teaching secondary ELs Personalized learning strategies Teaching English Language Arts to EL’s Familiarity with APS (Arlington Public Schools) English Learner program models and EL assessment procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Qualifications : ESL endorsement: English endorsement preferred. ELA Certification Familiarity with the WorkKeys Business Writing Assessment Ability to integrate technology in writing instruction Available to participate in after-school professional learning activities.
