Position Overview
The Research and Development Intern is responsible for supporting different projects in the department related to conducting analytical testing of film products, research study on polymer mechanics as well as driving process improvements within the department. Practical hands-on opportunities available to learn about different polymers and film products.
General Description
- Provides test support in project research, data collection, and reporting
- Operates lab equipment and apparatus under supervision to conduct analytical testing
- Supports weathering samples and tracker for real life exposure
- Evaluates weathering panels to report and centralize results
- Review and update existing test methods
Requirements
- Must be high school graduate actively enrolled in an accredited institution for a Science or Engineering degree
- Personally guided by, espouse, communicate, and works with, and through, values of integrity, excellence, inspirational, teamwork and accountability (Arlon’s core values).
- Comply with lab and production warehouse safety protocols
- Relevant hands-on working experience in a lab performing similar tasks, including the knowledge and ability to manage a project from start to completion.
- Strong background in chemistry or material science knowledge. Familiar with analytical lab equipment such as DMA, DSC, Rheometry.
- Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for working in a diverse, and exciting technology environment.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office®
- Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written and presentation)
- Reside within max. 25 miles from 92870
Pay Transparency
The current pay rate for this position is $20.00 – $23.00/hr. Rate of pay will depend on factors such as market conditions and location, job-related knowledge and skills, education, training and experience. If hired, employment will be at will. The Company reserves the right to modify pay, as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program, at any time.
