Description
ARM Group LLC is seeking a Civil Project Manager who will collaborate with a team of multi-disciplined engineers and scientists, project managers, CAD designers, and staff within the company to service renewable energy clients’ needs.
Experience with erosion and sediment control design, stormwater management design, and related land development engineering experience is required. Other responsibilities include completing engineering calculations, preparing reports and design drawings, interfacing with regulators and clients, and supporting other project managers.
This role is responsible for establishing client relationships, defining client needs, developing winning strategies, preparing proposals, and managing the development, design and permitting of a wide range of projects related to renewable energy, presenting and answering questions on project plans to a diverse audience and mentoring junior staff. Key to success in this position is being highly motivated, resourceful, well-organized, and a cooperative producer and manager that is able to meet project goals, schedules, and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the development, design and permitting of multiple projects simultaneously for commercial/industrial and utility scale solar projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Prepare and review engineering designs and permit applications to acquire approvals from regulatory bodies.
- Maintain complex schedules, develop project timelines, coordinate with subcontractors, and manage people and materials, acting as the direct point of contact for all stakeholders, in order to complete jobs on schedule and within budget guidelines.
- Monitor project work progress, adhering to the scope of work and communicating with key stakeholders.
- Assess and mitigate project risks; Pro-actively recognize conditions and problems and develop effective solutions.
- Perform and/or check technical calculations and prepare project specifications.
- Prepare detailed models and technical documents to present project design/feasibility findings to stakeholders.
- Evaluate the economic, engineering, or pragmatic feasibility of projects based on site and/or building constraints (i.e., constructability assessment).
- Assist the ARM Group LLC Business Development and Marketing team, including the preparation of detailed technical proposals.
- Prepare reports, client communications, contract documents, etc. and consult with other internal partners as needed.
- Prepare invoices, track project budgets and projections.
- Present projects at public meetings/hearings, answering technical and land use questions.
- Attend client & agency meetings and industry events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering (Civil or Environmental) from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- 6 years of experience designing and permitting projects involving land development or land use permitting.
- Experience with stormwater management plans, erosion & sediment control design calculations and permitting (NPDES) in PA and/or surrounding states.
- Knowledge of State environmental regulations in PA and/or surrounding states.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects.
- Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills; Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ambitious and eager to grow; Strong work ethic and self-motivated mentality.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with key stakeholders, including officials and environmental regulators, to exchange information, clearly explain the project goals, obtain permit approvals, coordinate compliance efforts.
- Articulate, confident and able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
- Experience managing vendor and client payment terms to achieve positive cash flow by reviewing project billings, preparing client invoices, and assisting with payment collection.
- Strong technical competency and analytical ability.
- Reasonably proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and MS Project or equivalent project scheduling software.
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Pennsylvania.
