In this position, you will support the Special Warfare community with focus on the Joint Personal Edge Compute Device (JPECD) – Technology Integration & Support Cooperative (TISC), delivering development, integration, support, and sustainment for cloud-based JPECD systems through a cooperative composed of multi-programs, contributing partners, using commands, and other organizations. Additionally, you will support the Special Warfare (SW) TISC, providing Air Force Special Warfare focused systems integration, development, operations, maintenance, support, and training.
HOW A CLOUD SYSTEMS DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
In this role you will:
● Work with a group of amazing people, collaborating on complex problems with a commitment to customer success
● Assist in the deconstruction and interpretation of requirements supporting team projects
● Ensure solutions and activities delivered are aligned with the strategy and vision of the organization
● Automate deployment of elastic, highly available, scalable, and fault tolerant systems within a commercial cloud environment.
● When needed, migrate legacy on-premises services leveraging established and well-accepted design patterns while developing new solutions using automation tools and adhering to Agile, DevOps/DevSecOps development and implementation best practices
● Provide continuous integration, operations, maintenance, support, training services and applicable baseline analysis for SW Command and Control Mission Systems to include associated wearable systems, unclassified and classified configurations, networks, interfaces, software, appliances, and specialty devices.
● Provide continuous integration, operations, maintenance, support, and training services for SW cloud applications, enabling Special Operations Forces missions around the world
● Commit to staying abreast of both emerging technologies and evolving customer goals and objectives
● Engage with stakeholders and supporting teams to ensure customer expectations, satisfaction, risks and cost are managed
● Work to enhance team effectiveness, fostering a culture of unparalleled technical acumen to achieve maximum effectiveness in delivering services and solutions in accordance with customer and end-user requirements
● Advocate for and articulate Development, Integration, Testing and product sustainment activities, contributing to processes and outcomes that enhance productivity
● Adhere to standards, policies, protocols, procedures and best practices to embody “Best of Breed” Development & Engineering
● Participate in system design discussions for Future State, Concepts, and planned or active Development & Engineering projects
● Participate in strategic engagements and events, as required
● Brief stakeholders on planned and active projects and activities
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
● Bachelor of Science degree in an IT field, or equivalent experience, plus the following:
- 5 years of combined DoD and/or Commercial industry IT experience is highly preferred
- 2 years practical experience implementing/sustaining enterprise-level solutions in a production cloud environment
- Required IT Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
- Linux
- Required Information Assurance Certifications:
- Current 8140 IA IAM_II certification (minimum Sec CE)
● Security Clearance Level:
- Must have a current SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility
● Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of many IT technologies is crucial for success, examples include:
- Firewalls: Forcepoint, Apache Tomcat,
- AWS Cloud Computing Technologies/Services/Techniques: Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, Cloud Formation Scripts, Ansible Playbooks, Command Line Interface, Containerization (Docker), Postfix, Bind,
- Scripting: Jenkins, Bash
- Identity Access Management/Active Directory: KeyCloak, Windows Active Directory, Red Hat Single Sign On, Public Key Infrastructure, certificates,
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- GitLab, GitHub
- Requires a highly experienced and working knowledge of Cloud-based IaaS technologies and service delivery models
- Strong knowledge of IT Development, Engineering, Integration & Testing processes
- Strong understanding of DoD Cyber Security standards including Security Technical Implementation Guides, SCAP, Risk Management Framework
- Excellent communication skills
