Job Description
JOB TITLE: Mill/Mixer Operator
DEPARTMENT: Tube Line
REPORTS TO: TL Value Stream Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The trainee must know and understand the tube line small mixer mill combi –cutting procedures. Upon completion of the training, print out sign and turn in a hard copy of the procedure to the manager.
JOB SPECIFIC TASKS:
Able to weigh batches to the proper amount safely
Must be able to run mixer in both auto and manual modes
Must be able to load a schedule
Must be able to operate mill and take off stock by your self
Must be qualified to operate the MDR machine
Must be familiar with the process of identifying the stock produced prior to sending carousel to the extruder operator.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and understand work instructions, customer specifications, and MSDS information. Must be able to use manufacturing system such as AIMS; basic computer knowledge.
EXPERIENCE:
It would take 1 month – 3 months to become familiar with all the processes and equipment used on this job and become competent.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:
Working Knowledge of Scales.
Working Knowledge of Guillotine.
Operation of Forklift.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Normal communication skills are required for regular contact with lab personnel, fellow employees, team leader, and Department Manager.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS:
There are significant costs to production, quality and sales if process is not in control or if mistakes are made. This is the beginning of the manufacturing process. Potentially could impact quality of all product stocks.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Nearly 50% of time is spent standing and 50% moving around the work area and must be able to lift 50 – 65 lbs.
