Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Destruction Specialist (DS) shall pick up shredder containers from all buildings throughout NSWC PHD campus, using a government vehicle.
- The Destruction Specialist shall receive and pick-up various electronic and media equipment/components (e.g. floppy disks, CD's, circuit boards, hard drives, magnetic tapes, VHS tapes, DLT disk, and circuit cards), and destroy by using the Government approved method daily.
- Daily operation of current and future equipment will be in accordance with posted applicable NSWC PHD, Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) and higher echelon/safety and operation manuals. The destruction equipment filters will be cleaned in accordance with maintenance and operations manuals provided. The DS must be familiar with and capable of operating the Disintegrator and Shredder with an air filtration system.
- The Destruction Specialist shall perform miscellaneous and administrative support functions as directed by the site lead.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Must be familiar with and capable of operating the Disintegrator and Shredder with an air filtration system.
- The Destruction Specialist shall have experience in typing/keyboarding, organizing, and Microsoft Office
- The DS shall have and maintain a valid and current driver's license.
Minimum/General Experience:
- Three (3) years' experience with operating destruction machinery (e.g. SEM 22 Disintegrator, SEM 0301 HD Hard Drive Shredder, SEM 23HDS Disintegrator, SEM 700 Disintegrators, and SEM 244 Shredders, magnetic degausser, Wastequip compactor, Dustkop Collector with stack diffuser).
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
