Armada Recovery -

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving growth and expanding the patient base of our treatment facilities. This role focuses on identifying, establishing, and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and all other potential referral sources to build a strong network and increase referrals within their respective territories. The ideal candidate is passionate about behavioral health, skilled in relationship management, and motivated to contribute to the success of individuals seeking addiction recovery. The BDR will ensure consistent and compassionate communication throughout the treatment experience not just for our patients, but for their families, and all referral sources. Management Reporting Relationships : Directly Reports to : Tara Hall, Director of Business Development

DUTIES OF THE POSITION : The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following :

1. Referral Development

Identify, target, and establish relationships in assigned territories with referral sources, including physicians, therapists, social workers, hospitals, other treatment centers, legal entities, community organizations, etc.

Conduct regular outreach, including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits, to maintain and strengthen partnerships.

Host educational presentations, lunch-and-learns, and networking events to promote the facility’s services.

Compile competitive data and analyze opportunities for how to improve referrals.

2. Outreach and Networking

Represent the facility at community events, health fairs, and conferences to enhance visibility and awareness.

Collaborate with local organizations to create partnerships that align with the facility's mission.

3. Sales and Marketing

Achieve or exceed monthly referral and admissions targets.

Collaborate with the team to create and distribute promotional materials tailored to referral sources.

Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.

4. Communication and Reporting

Maintain timely, accurate, and up-to-date records of all outreach activities and referral relationships.

Provide weekly reports on progress, challenges, and opportunities to the Business Development Manager.

Submit expense reports when due.

Develop and submit quarterly and annual strategic plans.

Attend and participate on all team calls and manager one on ones.

Collaborate with the clinical and admissions teams to ensure smooth patient transitions.

Take an active and collaborative role as a member of the sales team.

Acts as a liaison between program staff and referents.

Support all patients in accessing care and remain available to answer all questions to help usher patients into treatment.

5. Education and Advocacy

Stay informed about addiction treatment modalities, insurance coverage, and regulatory requirements.

Advocate for the importance of outpatient addiction treatment within the community.

Participate and complete any necessary training.

6. Travel

Travel is primarily local within designated assigned territories during business hours, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES : Armada Recovery employees are required to comply with all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements. Additionally, all staff members must comply with the Armada Recovery Employee Handbook, any Code of Ethics and all other Armada Recovery policies.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor’s Degree preferred PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

3 years of experience in behavioral health or addiction treatment, or sales and marketing within the treatment / recovery industry.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :

Demonstrated understanding and respect for individuals struggling with addiction.

Self-motivated and driven to achieve goals with minimal supervision.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Able to identify challenges and develop creative solutions to meet the needs of referral sources and patients.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.

Demonstrates exemplary customer service skills.

Demonstrates proven sales and closing skills.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Knowledge of addiction treatment services and recovery principles.

Experience working with insurance providers and understanding insurance coverage for addiction treatment preferred.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for outreach activities.
