JOB SUMMARY : Armada Recovery is seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitorial Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will perform routine cleaning tasks, monthly deep cleans, and assist with minor maintenance needs to ensure the smooth operation of our treatment facility.
Management Reporting Relationships :
Directly Reports to : Mary Moran, Executive Director
DUTIES OF THE POSITION :
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following :
Janitorial Duties :
Clean and sanitize common areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, furniture, treatment rooms, and offices daily.
Sanitize all commonly used surfaces (i.e. door handles, desk phones, countertops, etc.)
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed.
Dispose of trash and recyclables daily.
Restock supplies in restrooms and cleaning areas.
Maintain the cleanliness of windows, walls, doors, and other surfaces.
Deep clean once a month.
Lock doors at the end of every shift.
Fill out janitorial checklists at the end of every shift.
Maintenance Assistance :
Perform minor repairs as needed (replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, unclogging toilets, etc.)
Making sure heating / cooling / faucets are working properly.
Report major maintenance issues or safety hazards to the facility manager promptly.
Support seasonal facility upkeep (i.e. salting walkways, remove debris / snow from walkways).
Other Duties :
Maintain professional and respectful communication with all clients and follow client confidentiality laws and regulations.
Follow safety and infection control protocols in all tasks.
Assist in setting up rooms for meetings or patient activities.
Communicate effectively with staff to address any cleanliness or maintenance concerns.
Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies, order supplies as needed and maintain organization of cleaning supply closet.
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Armada Recovery employees are required to comply with all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements. Additionally, all staff members must comply with the Armada Recovery Employee Handbook, any Code of Ethics and all other Armada Recovery policies.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
High school diploma or equivalent.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Previous experience in janitorial or maintenance roles.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Speak and write in English.
Reliable transportation.
Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment, and basic maintenance tools.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Outlook for e-mailing.
Able to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
