General Description
The primary role of the Agent Support Specialist is to serve as the main contact for brokers and agents, serving as the conduit between brokers, sales team members and those stakeholders in the finance, agency management and operational areas it supports. Core responsibilities will focus on Worksite channel sales and commission payment reports, as well as review and confirmation of data for new and current agents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with Account Managers and New Business teams, build out and maintain agent information within SalesForce and other relevant systems. Review accounts for quality assurance purposes, updating system information as needed regarding licensure, contact information, and other pertinent changes.
- Working with the accounting and finance team, provide reporting for compensation values to assist in actuarial calculations.
- Support the sales team by serving as primary on the production of group quotes and certain RFP activities.
- Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, assist in the creation of special compensation advances, recoveries and all other compensation outside of the regular commission workflows.
- Provide backup services to the premium accounting team to support special projects on an ad hoc basis.
- Receive data from AFBA agency management and properly setup broker schedules within the Worksite administrative platform(s) to ensure financial accuracy in compensation services.
- Assist in the preparation of agent tax schedules, including Schedule A and Form 5500s.
- Provide backup services, as needed, to support non-financial processes in new business and claims to support ongoing day to day activities.
- Direct internal audits, as necessary and work to resolve any items identified as out of order in our historical compensation management. Additionally, this role will directly support internal and external audits as prescribed by the Chief Audit Officer.
- Work with Project Manger on all platforms that require any unique setup or coordination with our administrative platforms.
Education, Licensure, Certification, and Experience
- HS diploma, some college preferred
- Experience in basic financial accounting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Analysis and comprehension skills
- Knowledge of basic financial concepts
- Familiarity with using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word and other Office products
- Familiarity with SalesForce
- Working understanding of insurance business and processes
- Excellent time management skills
- Good command over spoken and written communication
