Youth Program Leader Shaping Bright Future
Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Reports to: Director of Programs
Salary: $16.23-$17.27 per hour
This role is based in Southern California, specifically in Oceanside, CA (North San Diego County). It is located inside a military base installation. Base access is provided to civilian employees.

We're seeking a Youth Program Leader who brings fun, creativity, and caring together. As a master supervisor, you'll turn every moment into an opportunity for learning and laughter.

Main Responsibilities:
- Craft an engaging curriculum that fosters learning and creativity.
- Coordinate activities, games, and lessons that turn learning into a joyous adventure.
- Inject a weekly theme to transform mundane days into extraordinary escapades.
- Instill YMCA character values like caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
- Set the stage 30 minutes before class time, ensuring a well-prepared environment.
- Guarantee a well-organized, safe, and clean space for the children's activities.
- Forge robust connections with school personnel and families, utilizing charm for effective communication.
- Navigate conflicts with the finesse of a seasoned negotiator.
- Attend mandatory meetings and trainings with the eagerness of a perpetual learner.
- Share insights and coordinate lesson plans and activities with fellow facilitators.
- Provide parents with insightful feedback on their children's progress.
- Compile end-of-year reports, monthly attendance records, and gather essential classroom resources.
- Manage cash receipts and ensure a stock of healthy snacks for participants.
Requirements:
- Possess at least a high school diploma or GED, coupled with a minimum of 1 year in supervised programmatic child care.
- Hold a degree in fields such as psychology, elementary education, child development, or related disciplines (preferred but not mandatory).
- Successfully pass background checks and drug testing to maintain the safety of our hero headquarters.
- Meet current health and sanitation requirements, along with passing random drug testing, criminal background checks, and employment reference background checks.
Physical and Mental Prowess:
You'll stay active and engaged throughout the day, moving around, lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs. You'll also need sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to supervise children's activities safely.
