Armedia is in search of Mainframe Support IT Consultant, this position can be fully remote, however, candidates that are local to the New York, NY 10007 area are preferred.
In collaboration with the team, the candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the current feature sets of the systems to establish a strategic development plan, work closely with the team lead to prioritize tasks effectively, involves participating in system analysis, design, and requirements sessions as needed, provide solutions through development to enhance application functionality using various tools. And also support and maintain the system by troubleshooting and resolving bugs.
Additionally, engaging with business users and key stakeholders to identify and develop functionality based on specified requirements and design changes, collaborate with the project team to gather best practices and guidance from the business team, aiming to integrate and enhance methodologies and user experiences to ensure that user needs are met, conduct user research to uncover critical insights. Furthermore, deliver operational support and requested features, thorough testing to ensure optimal performance of these features.

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze current feature sets with team to identify development strategy
- Work with team lead to prioritize work
- Participate in system analysis, system design and requirements sessions as needed
- Provide solutions through development to application functionality with various tools
- Provide support and maintenance in troubleshooting and fixing bugs
- Work with business users and key stakeholders to develop functionality based on requirements and design
- Engage with project team to gather best practices and guidance from the business team in an effort to integrate and improve methodologies and user experience.
- Discover what users need by conducting user research and unveiling critical insights.
- Deliver operational support and features as requested, and conduct testing to ensure optimal performance of said features
- Participate in daily, weekly and on demand meetings as needs arise
Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years of hands-on development experience in Mainframe, ADABAS/NATURAL, JCL, TSO and Utilities
- Experience with developing Ad-hoc reports, extracts and processes using ADABAS/NATURAL and JCL
- Full software lifecycle experience from requirements thru implementation and production support
- Experience developing functional and technical design documents from business requirements
- Proven at least 5 years’ technical experience in Mainframe applications customization and support
- Detailed technical understanding of data and technical database design
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, Team Player, and Dynamic Thinker
