Job Overview
The Fabrication Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC laser cutting machines and press brakes to produce high-quality sheet metal components efficiently.

Duties

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting machines and press brakes based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Select appropriate cutting parameters (speed, power, and gas type) for different materials and thicknesses.
  • Ensure efficient nesting of parts to minimize material waste and maximize production output.
  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines and press brake, including loading materials and calibrating equipment when required.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances and dimensions.
  • Make necessary adjustments to programs or processes to maintain product quality.
  • Identify and resolve programming or machine-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure accurate interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Provide feedback to improve designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of programs, setups, and process adjustments.
  • Track and report production metrics and material usage.

Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar), CNC programming software, and nesting software.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal properties, cutting techniques, and fabrication processes.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour
