The Surgery Scheduler will support patients and physicians with surgery needs in relation to scheduling, authorizing and coordinating care for multiple clinics. - Check patient orders for accuracy and inform providers of any discrepancies
- Create, submit, and track patient recommendation letters
- Create schedules for physicians and facilities
- Calling patients to advise them of their surgical date and send pre-op paperwork
- Ensure that patients obtain a medical clearance needed for a successful surgery
- Review and obtain patient consent forms for surgery
- Schedule surgeries according to protocols provided by each physician
- Enter needed data into the practice management system
- Obtain authorizations for surgeries
- Respond to calls and emails in a timely manner
- Provide information and updates in regard to patients'surgery schedules
- Schedule post-surgical appointments with patients
- Schedule time, date, diagnostic test and pre-op appointments based on patient needs /availability and enter into practice management system
- Coordinate transportation anangements as needed for surgery patients
- Send patient reminders for upcoming surgery date and time
- MUST be detailoriented
- Flexible and able to deal with a constantly changing environment and associated demands
- Excellent customer service & communication skills
- €xceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
- Ability to make decisions and problem solve
- Excellent typing and computer skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year surgery scheduling experience REQUIRED
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus!
