Warehouse Associate and Driver

Full-time Position with Full Benefits

Armistead Mechanical is seeking a person to assist in our plumbing, heating, and cooling shop. This position is based out of our Waldwick, NJ location but requires delivery driving to our office and shop in Newburgh, NY and to our construction job sites in northern NJ and the lower NY Hudson Valley.  We are looking for a team player who is committed to providing excellent service while working in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. Regular work hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general warehouse functions including receiving, stocking, checking, and loading/unloading trucks.
• Deliver tools and materials to construction job site locations primarily in New Jersey - approximately 50% driving
• Safely Operate motor vehicles such as pickup trucks, vans, and forklift; use other warehouse equipment such as hand trucks and carts, trailers and pallet jacks.
• Fulfill tool and equipment requests from field staff and prepare and stage items for delivery efficiently and safely.
• Assess and fix broken tools and/or schedule repairs with vendors.
• Handle material returns working cooperatively with field and purchasing staff.
• Recommend and participate in the disposal of obsolete equipment, furniture and other items.
• Maintenance of company fleet vehicles - taking for repairs, cleanliness, inspections, etc.
• Operate a smart phone.
• Basic building maintenance such as light snow shoveling, sweeping, changing light bulbs, etc.
• Other related duties as requested.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum two to three years’ warehouse experience; driver experience desirable
• Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and be able to pass a drug/alcohol test
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the plumbing and heating industry desirable
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Forklift experience with certification or ability to obtain (can be done at our shop)
• Ability to communicate well
• Basic smartphone and computer proficiency
