Armor Equipment is a full-service distributor and maintenance center for private and municipal refuse and street sweeper customers. Originally located in St. Louis in 1970, Armor distributes a full line of new and used equipment, including Heil refuse trucks, Tymco street sweepers, Sewer Equipment Trucks and Trailer Jetters, ODB Xtreme Vac trash / debris & leaf collection units, containers and compactors. The parts department is stocked with new OEM and aftermarket parts for all types of vehicles!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide industry-leading customer satisfaction. Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and other employees.
- Diagnose & repair equipment and other identified products as clearly and specifically requested by the customer, using a laptop computer, experience, manuals, and other industry sources.
- Assess the need for additional repairs or maintenance, and document and communicate findings and potential solutions with supervisor and customer.
- Accurately account for all paid labor hours.
- Accurately account for all parts used.
- Submit complete documentation for all work in a timely manner, as required by management.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools.
- Make repairs accurately and timely with minimum required re-work.
- Keep manager advised of job progress, delays, changes, status, etc.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A technical background in diesel engines & air brakes.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Ability to read structural drawings, weld using a mig welder, and cut using air arc / plasma cutter helpful but not required.
- Must have own tools.
- Must have communication skills and be able to complete accurate paperwork.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of a service technician.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Class B CDL a plus.
- Must have a good attitude and be able to successfully work in a team environment.
- Regular and prompt attendance required.
- Present a professional image in personal appearance, dress, and preparation.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Hours will be 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime and overnight travel may be required. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
