Aluminum Boat Builder – Welding and Fabrication
Classification: Full-time, non-exempt
Location: Anacortes, WA
Work Hours: Monday – Thursday 6:00am to 4:30pm with some overtime available.

Position Overview:
As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating high-quality aluminum components for both new builds and refits/repowers. You will follow established standards to ensure precision and durability while collaborating with team members and other departments to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and weld aluminum components for new boat construction, ensuring precision and structural integrity.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute accurate assemblies and welds.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections on completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Assist with vessel refits and repowers as needed, applying expertise in aluminum fabrication and repair techniques.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to maintain a safe, organized, and highly efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in aluminum fabrication with at least 5 years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience in new boat construction.
· Proficiency in aluminum MIG and TIG welding.
· Strong ability to read and interpret 2D blueprints and technical drawings.
· A commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced work environment.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
· Ability to pass an onsite skills test, which will include fabrication, prep and fit-up, welding
quality, and basic math with decimals and fractions.
· Tools of the trade required (die grinder, welding hood, etc.).
