Position Overview
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the coordination, timeliness and accuracy of outgoing shipping operations within each manufacturing plant. Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to order review, inventory review and reporting, quality control, safety, data entry, and internal and external communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Service Delivery (80%)
- Confirm all outgoing shipments match customer PO, drawings, quotes, and dispatch board 24 hours prior to shipment.
- Prepare all documentation for outgoing shipments 24 hours in advance to provide to QC.
- Pick, pack, and ship all product for each shipment.
- Provide all paperwork for transportation company and customer.
- Manage plant inventory of finished goods, resale, and raw materials. Including working with key personnel to manage inventory levels.
- Verify all inventory meets/exceeds needs for customer satisfaction.
- Manage and oversee month end physical inventory and periodic cycle count processes.
- Oversee organization of all material storage locations.
- Receives order forms from plant personnel.
- Assigns order numbers, scans orders into file, sends order to purchasing
- Receives all incoming shipments and packages, inspects goods for quality and damage, verifies quantities against purchase orders,
- Receives shipment into system, gets orders out to the proper plant department, stores items in designated areas, and resolves any order discrepancies with purchasing dept.
- Maintains organization of all storage areas (boot barn, PECO storage area, etc.).
- Maintain communication with Yard Manager, Logistics, Production Coordinator, Purchaser, Project Manager and Inventory Control Manager.
- Scan all documentation into designated locations.
- Input all production orders into Fishbowl the day after production
- Research shipping, production, work order, & BOM variances, investigate and provide correcting entries, as necessary
- Work cross-functionally with ICM in Finance to ensure all financial needs are met.
- Work cross-functionally with purchaser on managing inventory levels and plant storage locations
- Complete weekly safety observation (or as directed by Plant Manager)
Continuous Process Improvement (10%)
- Maintain SLAs and build a culture of continuous improvement
- Drive improvement in clarity of process flows and measurement across the organization
Collaboration and Research (10%)
- Collaborate with corporate functions across the board to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented
- Collaborate with data owners/stewards to align on process and data issues
- Respond to questions and follow up on pertinent escalations

Qualifications
Positions Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree in administration, accounting or technical/manufacturing process.
- Experience: 2-4 years in the inventory control function in the precast or manufacturing process
- Certification: Forklift
- Travel Requirements: No major travel requirements
Other Key Skills:
- 2-3 years of relevant professional experience preferred
- Manufacturing Industry Background preferred
- Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Google and MS Office
- Professionalism, dependability, commitment, and integrity
- Ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, operations facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication
ADA Requirements
- Environment (office or other): Onsite at manufacturing plant
- Equipment Operated: Computer, phone.
- Lifting: Some lifting required (up to 50lbs)
- Sitting: Must be able to remain in a sitting position for 50-75% of the time
