Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves managing the bank's compliance management system, reading and writing internal policies and procedures, and conducting compliance meetings and trainings with staff and board of directors. The Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of our financial practices and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Possess a working knowledge of Federal and State Banking regulations (lending and deposit) and Bank Secrecy Act Regulations, Anti-Money Laundering Laws.
- Maintain and operate the bank’s Compliance Management System (CMS) and compliance risk assessment.
- Verify that the bank’s policies and procedures are in line with all Federal and State regulations.
- Research questions and gray areas regarding banking rules and regulations and ensure that the institution does not break any laws.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance management programs that align with industry standards.
- Work with the bank’s Chief Executive Officer to make sure all policies and procedures are being followed precisely and with no corners are cut.\
- Provide regular/ongoing training for newly hired employees, existing employees, and Board of Directors, any state or federal laws change.
- Provides support and assistance to outside auditors and examiners when necessary.
- Oversee and conduct Compliance Committee meetings.
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies.
- Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and compliance issues for senior management.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures that promote ethical conduct within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field is preferred or 5 years proven experience in compliance management or a similar role within a financial institution.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer (CCBCO) certification is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
