Position Summary :
The successful candidate must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and will be responsible for the outside plant maintenance and construction, underground and aerial, of CATV and Telco facilities. This is a physically demanding job that requires a willingness to work in an outside environment in all weather conditions. The position requires that the candidate has the ability and willingness to travel and make overnight stays weekly over extended periods of time.

What You'll be Doing :
Construction, maintenance, and transferring of underground and aerial HFC and FTTH plant
Splicing coax, fiber, and associated components in the HFC and FTTH plants
Reading HFC and FTTH network design prints
Amplifier setup
Competent pole and ladder climbing skills
Works aloft utilizing climbing gaffs, ladders, and mechanical lifts
Operates company vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, forklifts, backhoes / trenchers, and other machines
Works outdoors in the elements
Reads network design prints
Accurately maintains daily log sheet and inventory paperwork
Knowledge of NESC construction guidelines and Armstrong construction practices
Follows all Armstrong safety policies
Maintains vehicles and machines to Armstrong standards
What You'll Need :
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Must have working knowledge in the use of various tools and equipment and excellent mechanical aptitude.
Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and an excellent driving record and the capability to acquire a Class A CDL w / airbrakes and other proper endorsements as required.
Must be able to work safely and rapidly under time pressure.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis and meet all physical demands of a labor-intensive job.
Must meet weight limit requirements necessary for safe use of ladders, bucket lifts, and climbing hooks.
Must be physically capable to climb poles utilizing climbing hooks.
Must be able to perform required job functions at heights.
Must possess a positive attitude, hands-on work ethic, and a desire to learn.
Must be able to travel and stay away from home for consecutive weekly durations as required.
