JOB DESCRIPTION PURPOSE

The purpose of this job description is to establish and define the functional role, reporting relationships, duties, authority, responsibilities, job requirements, and measurements of performance of the Security Professional Mechanical of Armstrong Lock and Security located in Orlando, Florida.

BASIC FUNCTION

The basic function of the Security Professional Mechanical of Armstrong Lock and Security is to play a critical role in maintaining the security and safety of individuals, businesses, and properties. They must possess a strong combination of technical skills, customer service skills, and attention to detail.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Security Professional Mechanical reports directly to and is fully accountable to the Office Manager.

AUTHORITY

To make decisions and take the actions needed to satisfy the requirements of the position, and to be accountable for both actions taken and actions not taken.

To use all resources available to implement the directives of the Office Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

Requires : High School Diploma or Equivalent. May substitute relevant background and extensive experience in the security or related industries.

Preferred : A Community College, or Trade School Degree from an accredited institution. May substitute relevant background and extensive experience in the security or related industries.

Preferred : Training : May complete an apprenticeship program or a training program approved by the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) or the National Locksmith Association (NLA).

Required : Must be a responsible individual with the ability and skills to troubleshoot and solve problems without direct supervision.

Required : Physical Ability : Must be physically able to perform tasks that require manual dexterity, lifting, and bending. A security Professional should be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.

Preferred : Must be computer literate and able to use Field Operations Software (i.e., Field Pulse), and the Microsoft Office Suite of tools : Word, Excel, Publisher.

Required : Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English to interact with customers and employees.

Required : Must be able to write and read reports.

WORKING CONDITONS

Office-Field : Will primarily work in the field with customers and can be subject to extremes in temperature, and conditions that include moving around outdoor commercial or residential buildings. However, you can also work from time to time in a climate-controlled enclosed office with low noise levels. Workdays will be from 8 to 10 hours per day and will include some early mornings, late evenings, and occasionally weekends.

DUTIES AND TASKS

The Security Professional Mechanical is responsible to the Office Manager for the following list of duties and tasks :

Estimating : From Upsell opportunities, creating draft estimates within our ERP System and submitting to sales for review and action.

Key Duplication : Cutting and duplicating keys for locks, including house keys, car keys, and padlock keys.

Lock Installation : Installing new locks, including deadbolts, doorknobs, and padlocks.

Lock Repair : Repairing and maintaining existing locks, including fixing broken locks and replacing worn-out parts.

Lockout Service : Assisting individuals who are locked out of their homes, cars, or businesses.

Keyless Entry Installation : Installing and programming keyless entry systems, including digital locks and biometric scanners.

Safe Installation and Repair : Installing and repairing safes, including combination safes and digital safes.

Lock Upgrades : Upgrading existing locks to improve security, including installing anti-pick pins and anti-drill plates.

Security Consulting : Providing security advice and recommendations to individuals and businesses.

Access Control / CCTV : If needed and trained, installing and programming access control and CCTV systems, including card readers and keypad systems.

Safety : Ensuring compliance with relevant safety laws, regulations, and industry standards. And, continuously reviewing and improving safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Supports efforts to keep employees of the company functioning as a team and keep morale and standards high.

Makes it understood that the customer and the quality of the products and service is the first priority and that each person in the company is here to support that priority.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

The Security Professional Mechanical will be accountable for the following KPIs and Metrics :

Billable Hours – 35 hours per week.

Completing Shop Time – 3 hours / week average.

Labor Efficiency – 85%.

Upselling-Draft Estimates into Sales – 5 per week.

Day Trips – 1 day trip per week per Tech.

Go-Backs – zero (0) is the standard.

Attendance – 95% outside of vacations and sick time.

Field processes and policies are understood and followed.

Customer feedback is consistently positive.

The Office Manager deems that the Security Professional Mechanical’s efforts are effective.
