Armstrong Maintenance Services is looking to fill open positions for a full time maintenance technician. We are a maintenance service company serving in and around the Metro Detroit area. Our maintenance services have a full range spectrum. Serving residential homeowners to high rise commercial and residential properties. We are looking for hardworking individuals that have a background in construction and maintenance.

Maintenance daily duties include but not limited to.

  • Plumbing repairs (Copper, Pexs, PVC)
  • Rough carpentry (Fence repair, Pillar installation, Soffit, window enclosure, trim repair)
  • Drywall repairs (Repairs from water damage to small patch and repair damage)
  • Painting and caulking
  • Small electrical repairs (Light fixture replacement, garage door motor, light bulb replacement, electrical outlet repair)
  • Clean up of loose material from properties

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's license
  • High school diploma
  • Knowledge of rough carpentry, plumbing, electrical
  • Ability to use power tools.
  • Ability to work by themselves to complete daily tasks
  • Ability to communicate with customers and staff
  • Resolving conflicts or miscommunication quickly
  • Capable of using company software and tablets to write up job estimates and communicate with management.

Armstrong Maintenance Services provide all needed equipment for everyday repairs. Maintenance technicians meet at our office for their daily job reports. We are a fast growing company with a hard working team looking to provide quality work to lower Michigan.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of property maintenance experience
  • Basic computer skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak comfortably to customers or employees of company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as measurements, proportions, percentages.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, climb ladders, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must have ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
